Recently announced, the Nissan Maxima has been selected as the top large car for the second straight year in the J.D. Power 2019 APEAL Study (Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout). This study, now in its 24th year, surveys purchasers and lessees of new vehicles, giving owners a platform to evaluate their cars, trucks, and SUVs across 77 specific attributes. The results are combined into an overall APEAL score measured on a 1,000-point scale.
With the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study, our flagship Nissan sedan proved to flawlessly fulfill the needs of consumers. This second, exciting award makes the Nissan Maxima one of only seven cars to earn both awards this year.
The Nissan Altima also performed well this year, tying for top ranking in the APEAL Midsize Car Segment. The Nissan Armada and Nissan Murano also ranked above APEAL segment averages. The Nissan Titan was ranked not only the best performer in the “Large Light Duty Pickup” segment, but it also tied for seventh in fewest overall problems among all vehicles studied.
