Nissan service

Your vehicle was subject to high temperatures over the summer. Fall isn’t far off, so the temperature should begin cooling down. The fluctuation can affect vehicle performance. This is why early autumn is the ideal time of year to schedule Nissan service. Here are some of the essential tasks.

1. Check the Oil

Temperature changes affect oil quality. The weather will be cooling over the next several weeks. Cold temperatures can increase oil viscosity and reduce its lubrication properties. Perform an oil check and replace if the level is below the dip stick’s fill line, or if the oil has a sludge-like appearance.

2. Check the Lights

Fall is when the sun begins setting sooner, leaving you with fewer daylight hours. You’ll rely more on your headlights. Check to be certain the lights provide adequate brightness. The same goes for other lighting like the tail lights and the high beams.

3. Check Wipers and Wiper Fluids

Be prepared for autumn showers. Inspect the blades; they’ll need to be replaced if the rubber is partially separated from the metal frame. You should also check that there’s ample washer fluid.

4. Heater Check

With fall comes increasingly chilly weather. While not essential for car function, you don’t want to be left with a compromised heater. When you switch on the heater, the air should initially be cold before warming up. If it takes too long to heat, then something may be wrong.

5. Battery Check

Extreme temperatures take a toll on the battery’s internal fluids. A technician can perform a voltage check to examine battery condition.
