  1. Nissan builds rocket engines such as those used on the Lambda 4S-5 spacecraft, which launched Japan’s first satellite. 
  2. The Nissan brand is over 100 years old – if you count its roots as Kainshinsha Motorcar Works. 
  3. Nissan made Japan’s version of the Ford Model T. Nissan (Datsun at the time) produced Japan’s first mass-produced car, the Type 15, in 1934.
  4. Nissan won the CEATEC Award for its autonomous driving system in 2013, long before driver assistance features were as popular as they are today.
  5. Nissan created its first limousine in 1967…for the emperor of Japan no less.
  6. You can still buy a Datsun vehicle…but not in the US. Datsun cars changed over to the Nissan name, but Datsun Go is still available in emerging markets like India and South Africa. 
  7. The Nissan LEAF, which launched in 2010, was the world’s best-selling electric vehicle for years. And we have more all-electric models in the works for the coming years.
  8. Infiniti cars are also part of the Nissan umbrella – it’s the luxury division of Nissan Motor Company.
  9. The Nissan Patrol is a luxury model despite Nissan’s focus on more moderately priced options. 
  10. Nissan launched its first hybrid prototype in 2004 and has been changing the hybrid game ever since.
